Chandler Burr and his exceptional inclination towards the aromatic world

We all feel intoxicated by the beautiful fragrance. Of course each and every human being has some likes and dislikes how far perfumes are concerned. Particular perfumes seem very soothing to the olfactory senses, while some others are highly allergenic. But how many of us can identify and categorize fragrances in logical manner along with its implication? Perfume critic Chandler Burr has a unique sense of smell that brings out beautiful presentation of every perfume. It seems, as if he is the gifted one in this respect!

Be it a product of Channel, Benetton, Elizabeth Arden or Harvey Prince, a perfume gets its due respect in the splendid words of Burr. Burr describes the perfumes with his imaginative and artistic vision, enthusiastic sprit and with the witty phrases at times. Published few years ago, book “The Emperor of Scents” is an impulse to distinguish the verities of fragrances. Someone has aptly remarked it as – “An elegant analysis of one man's work in deciphering the sense of smell.” In his opinion, a fragrance is not only associated with a particular element, but it’s also capable of generating a definite feeling around it. Citrus has a power to excite; on the other hand vanilla is something that feels lazy. If rose is said to be the scent of an old lady, then tropical fruits are associated with younger woman. This is how his exceptional sense of smell works on. Indeed, Chandler Burr is the master the olfactory sense.
